All I Want For Christmas...
Livy's first time checking out the Christmas tree
Besides playing with the tree, Livy has a new favorite spot to hang out - inside the ottoman

Give Thanks!
Some of our favorite moments from last weekend:
Livy enjoyed swaying back and forth in her "wing".
Livy enjoyed swaying back and forth in her "wing".
She loved it so much that she ate her turkey while "winging".
She also gobbled up pb&j (yes, we were in a restaurant and no, they did not kick us out - surprisingly).
We enjoyed our time together.
We all have SO much to be thankful for!

59 Degrees
Um...
Hello? I'm in here!
The other day our temperature dipped all the way down to 59 degrees! So, of course, proper attire was needed. Poor Livy had to endure Mommy bundling her up from head to toe. I think she wore less clothing in Flossmoor:)
Yes, her face was covered for at least 10 minutes before she even made a peep. It's amazing how far into the back seat you can reach when situations like this arise. She was a trooper! Of course by the next day our temps went back up to 75-80 degrees so all the "winter clothes" are put away for now - lucky for Livy.

Happy Halloween!
This past week has been filled with friends, parties, trick-or-treating, pumpkin patches, tons of candy and of course chasing Livy. She is running around everywhere nowadays. It's hard to believe that it has been a year since we strolled her around Trunk-or Treat for the first time!

Happy Birthday, Gramps!
Last week we had the pleasure of celebrating Gramps' Birthday with him up in Chicago!! We had such a great time talking, playing, laughing, visiting with family and friends and just cruising around town. Of course, Aurelio's was a big hit - THE BEST PIZZA! A big thank you to Gramps for a fun-filled week!!!

One Year Stats
Livy continues to grow like a weed!
Weight: 25.2 lbs
Height: 31 inches
Clothing size: 18 month
Shoes size: 5
Her doctor said she can eat anything and to start drinking whole milk. Yay!
She is also developing quite the vocabulary and sign language skills.
These are some words she likes to say throughout the day:
wawa = water
bawoon = balloon
hiya = hello
bugabees = butterflies
dada (sometimes "daddy") = daddy
mama = mommy
kee = kitty
baba = bottle
She loves to sign "milk" by opening and closing her hands as well as waving "hello" and "goodbye".
Livy responds to words/phrases as well. Here are some examples:
"Livy, can you wave hello/goodbye?" = she waves and waves and waves
"Livy, where is daddy/balloon/butterflies/boots/ellie etc... ? = she points and waves
"Livy come here." = she walks on over to where you are (ok, when she really wants to:)
"Livy, can you cough?" = play coughs
"Livy, can you blow air?" = she blows bubbles/motor boats (Daddy is proud of this one)
"Livy, how big are you?" = hands way above her head and big smiles
"Livy, are you hungry?" = squirms around excitedly and says "uuumm uuumm"
"Livy, can you clap?" = claps and claps some more
"Livy, can you shake? = shakes her head back and forth as if to say "no"
"Livy, would you get your yogurt out of the refrigerator?" = she chooses a yogurt and takes it to her highchair
There are a few others but they've slipped my mind.
One quick story...Given her fair skin, blonde hair and blue eyes, Livy has cradle cap and so the doctor told us to rub it with a tiny dab of baby oil each night during bath time and in a few weeks it should disappear. Well, last night while Daddy gave her a bath, he used 2 handfuls of oil on her head. So, today I've been spiking her hair and molding it into all sorts of various styles. It seems like the "wet look" is here to stay!

Happy 1st Birthday, Livy!!!
Last Saturday, Livy turned ONE!!!! We had a big party filled with family, friends, cake and tons of food! "Livy bug" was the theme and there were polka-dots and "ba-woons" everywhere! Livy stayed up partying until 10pm that night - must have been all the sugar in the icing and ice cream. We all had such a fun time.
Enjoy the pictures!

Little Turkey (and squash)
Lately, Livy has decided that fruits and breads taste much better than veggies or any kind of meat. So, today I tripped her down and took her out by the pool to "finger paint" and play with her food. She LOVED it! And the best part is that she ate squash and turkey. Mission accomplished. Looks like she will be having her meals outdoors for the time being:) So what did we do after she was finished playing with her food? Jumped in the nice, cool, refreshing pool!
