Beach Baby

On Saturday we took Livy across the bridge to the beach!

She had fun splashing in the water with Daddy...

Riding in her boat...

and letting her feet sink in to the wet sand!

"Hmmm... sand and salt tastes good!"

Around Town

This past week was filled with new adventures around town!
Aside from swimming, checking out books from the library, a few playdates and putting a piece of furniture together we visited Cocoa Park on Cocoa Beach, saw the giraffes at the zoo (along with some other animals around our house), experimented with new foods and Livy has enjoyed feeding herself (yes, all by herself).

Nine Month Stats

This morning we took Livy for her nine month check-up. She is very happy and healthy!
Her head circumference is 18". She weighs 22 lbs 9oz and is 29" long!!! She made the 97th percentile in each category - perfectly proportionate.
She is up to date on her shots but they needed to take a standard blood sample (finger prick) to make sure she's getting enough iron. It all checked out perfect!
After the doctor visit, we took Livy to the park. Her favorite toy was the swing. She held on tight and cried when I pulled her out.
She also continues to crawl everywhere and cruise around the family room from one piece of furniture to the next. Oh, and today she made her way in to the kitchen, turned over Ellie's dog bowl and tried to eat her food.

P.S. - I also included some pictures from our trip to the Keys with the family!! It was GREAT to see Gramps, Aunt Kristen, Uncle Lars, G-Pa, NeNe, Uncle K.C. and the Russell family. We were happy to be apart of the Dunn-Muir wedding as well.

Number Five

Last week Johnny and I celebrated our fifth anniversary!

On Friday night we went out to dinner, listened to some live music and even stopped for some ice cream. Many thanks to Gramps for watching Livy!! We really enjoyed our night out.

Over dinner we reminisced about the last 13 years of our relationship and our amazing 5 years of marriage.

Here are some of the highlights from the last 5-6: Moved to Raleigh, rented an apartment, Johnny started grad school, I started teaching, rescued a kitten, bought a house, rescued a dog, traveled overseas, got pregnant, Johnny got a job in FL, sold a house, moved into an apartment, moved to the beach, moved to another apartment, had a baby and bought a house.

I'm excited to see what the next 5 years will hold!

Looking Up

Yesterday, Livy pulled herself up on to her knees using the ottoman. Now, she is pulling herself up on to everything in sight! Also, when she lays on her tummy, she can get herself back up to a sitting position.
As of last weekend, Livy is officially out of her infant car seat and into the big girl car seat! She loves being able to sit up and look out the window. She is still rear-facing but at least she has a better view.
This morning when Daddy went in to her room, she was sitting up in her crib. Wow! Our little girl is growing up SO fast.

8 months!!!

Livy is 8 months old!! Some of her favorite things to do lately include:
She loves to say, "Da Da" and "Ba Ba". She also claps her hands, plays with tags of all sorts and sometimes she shakes her head back and forth as if to say, "no". She laughs and smiles all the time and rolls from her front to her back (and vice versa) quite a bit. Lately, Livy has been up on all fours rocking back and forth like she is about to take off crawling. Oh, and she is cutting her SECOND tooth (right next door to her first tooth)! She is a busy girl.
